The walk is 2.1kms long and on sealed footpaths. It is mostly flat, though there is a short uphill section towards the end as we come up Plymouth Street. The walk will take about 40-45 minutes. Dependent on how quick a walker you are, and how long you stop to admire and experience the beautiful scenery & wildlife!

Please arrive by 10.45am for an 11:00am start. Meet at the end of the car park in front of the Old Shire Offices at 60 Beverley Rd, Heidelberg. Look out for our Anna’s Walk banner!

To access the car park enter from Beverley Road and follow the driveway around to the right. This will take you straight into the carpark. Please note that the carpark can be busy as it is shared with the Banyule Football Club. You may find a spot in the car park but if not, try the surrounding streets. Please do allow plenty of time to find a parking spot and walk to the meeting point.

The walk is easy and flat, following the footpath along Beverley Road, then turning left after Possum Hollow Playground and following the shared Main Yarra Trail beside the river. The entire walk is on paved surfaces.

At the old Banyule Cattleyard we turn left off the trail and go up Plymouth Street, left on to Buckingham Drive. Then we can return to the Old Shire Offices by cutting through the Banyule Theatre carpark or along the small length of the Banyule Shared Trail that will lead you back to the top of the carpark for the Old Shire Offices.

There is a small incline going up Plymouth Street and Buckingham Drive but this flattens out again before we reach the Banyule Theatre carpark.

Please bring your own water bottles for the walk.

Hot and cold drinks are available for purchase from the kiosk located at the start/end of the walk.

Treats will be provided at the end of the walk, so please stay and mingle.

Yes, there are public toilets located very close to the meeting point, inside the Banyule Football Club. There are public toilets at the Possum Hollow Playground.

The walk is a loop route so you will finish at the start point near the carpark.

Yes definitely. You can bring your dog on the walk if it is kept on a lead.

The walk will go ahead in all weather conditions. However, if the weather is looking bad please check the BEAT Bladder Cancer Facebook page for any updates.
