Bladder Cancer Get Involved

Join In

We’d love you to become involved with BEAT. It may be focused on fundraising, raising awareness, education, or providing local support to your community. Big or small, it doesn’t matter. There are so many ways that you can help. Let us know what you’re up to and we’ll post it on our Facebook page or via Twitter. We have a range of resources, including brochures, guest speakers and webinars to help you.

You can find a range of downloadable, printable brochures on our Resources page.

You can help by printing out a few for your family, friends, local medical centre, hospital or GP. Or if you would like multiple copies of our brochures for your health care practice, workplace, conference or community event, we can also send them to you. Just let us know by emailing your details to info@beatbladdercanceraustralia.org.au

Here are some ideas on how you can join in…

1

Spreading the word through schools, clubs, workplaces, gyms, support groups...

2

Holding fundraiser/community awareness events. Some ideas are dinner parties, raffles, walks, cycles, runs, garage/boot sales, movie nights...

3

Talk to your GP/allied health professional about bladder cancer. It all helps.

4

Hand out our brochure to friends, family, your local GP, health professional or hospital.

Spread the word

The more people who understand bladder cancer and its symptoms, the more hope we have of preventing this disease from taking lives.

Take the lead. Please help us by becoming part of our extended team of educators.

Want to be a part of our team?

We are a new charity; as we grow and succeed we would love to have passionate people as part of the team.

Patients & Carers

At our heart we are a patient driven organisation. Any patients or carers that would like to ‘give back’ to the bladder cancer community, it would be amazing to have you involved. We have an active patient team who directly influence our strategy, get involved in projects, or be part of focus groups.

Medical Professionals

We are building a small medical advisory committee of passionate bladder cancer specialists. They ensure that the direction we are taking and information we are providing are fully aligned with current/future medical thinking. This team provide medical expertise and opinion, as well as directly help us on projects.

Donate your Skills & Energy

More hands make for lighter work. There are a range of skills that are needed to operate a charity. You don’t have to be an absolute expert, more important to us is passion and a bit of time. It would only need to be a few hours a week. We’d love to have you in the team!

Sponsorship

Are there any companies who would like to provide some support? This could be in the form of funding to bring our critical projects to life; or leveraging your contacts/relationships to help drive awareness of BEAT and bladder cancer out to the community and medical professionals.
